Dear Participants. For

you encounter any false information, please do not hesitate to let us know!
(17-04-2012)
Dear Participants. The
deadline for handing in the revised editions of your papers has passed the
15th of April. Please, if you would still like to send us your revised
paper, do so as soon as possible by sending it to the WICaNeM email address:
wicanem@wur.nl.
(10-04-2012)
Dear Participants. We would like to kindly remind you
to book your hotel rooms as soon as possible. At Hof van Wageningen (the
conference venue), we have a large number of rooms reserved for the
conference, but this reservation will soon cease to exist. In order to
ensure you will have a room available to you during the WICaNeM conference,
we would like to encourage you to book sooner rather than later. In order to
convenience this process for you, we have uploaded the booking form into
the 'Venue/Hotel' part of this website.
(30-03-2012) Floriade 2012
Dear Participants,
In the form of optional programming we would like to tell
you about the Floriade that will be held in the Netherlands this year. The
Floriade is an event of grand scale, and is held every 10 years. It offers a
beautiful assortment of artfully decorated gardens and pavilions, combining
horticultural highlights from all around the world. The park, spanning over
66 hectares, is divided into 5 themed parts, all with their own décor,
activities, and shows. It truly is an amazing thing to see!
Considering
the Floriade’s unique setting, we believed it would be of interest to you to
visit the Floriade, so to speak as an optional addition to the WICaNeM 2012
program. We will therefore offer you a day package (including the day-ticket
and the transport to and from the venue, departure and arrival point being
Hof van Wageningen, the conference venue) for € 50,00. Separate ticket
prices would be € 25,00 (€ 30,00 if you want to include the cable car ride),
to which transportation fees would be added still. We do not know yet
whether or not this cable car ride will be included in the package we will
offer, but of course we can request this when ordering your tickets. To this
end, we need to be able to estimate the amount of tickets we are going to
have to book beforehand (the due date for this will be mentioned here at a
later time). Please, if you would like some more information, do not
hesitate to contact us at
Wicanem@wur.nl, with
the subject ‘Floriade’.
We plan to
organise this day trip for May the 26th.
This would mean that you would have to add another day to your stay in the
Netherlands.
Kindest regards,
The WICaNeM 2012 organising team.
(29-02-2012) Today, the authors that have submitted a paper before January
9th (originally January 5th) will receive their Notification of Acceptance
and feedback. Please keep in mind that a Notification of Acceptance does not
equal a nomination for the Best Paper Award. We will announce the nominees
in a few days.
Now, reviewing the second round of papers (deadline:
20th of February) has begun. These authors will receive their feebdack and
Notification of Acceptance by the 25th of March. Authors that have submitted
to
Track 1 (Multi-Stakeholder Engagements, Resources and Value Creation)
will receive their feedback around March the 10th to allow them to refurbish
their papers in time for the IFAMR deadline.
(17-02-2012) From now on it is possible to register for this year’s WICaNeM
(http://www.hortilink.nl/clients/wicanem/).
If you register before May 1st you will receive a
€50,00 discount on the registration fees for the general participation,
developed country registration, and the PhD registration (MSc and business
participants will not receive a discount). Also, please keep in mind that
participants who are not yet IFAMA and/or EAAE members also have to pay a
€50,00 fee for their memberships.
(13-01-2012)
Due to the requests of many authors, we have decided to extend the deadline
for WICANEM full paper submission to February 20th, 2012
(by 11.59pm Netherlands time, GMT+1). If you want to submit your paper, you
now have to send it directly to us, on the email address
wicanem@wur.nl, and specify your track
of interest. The notifications of acceptance will be sent out March 25th,
2012.
Please keep in mind that the papers that are going to be submitted based on
this information can no longer compete for the best paper award, and will
not be published in the Journal of Chain and Network Science either.
(08-12-2011) We would like to remind you that all
the authors submitting their manuscript to the WICaNeM conference will have the
opportunity of competing for the 'Best Paper Award' and having their paper
considered for publication in the Journal of Chain and Network
Science (JCNS). Deadline January 5th, 2012.
(07-12-2011) The 10th WICANEM Conference is now
endorsed by the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA)
and the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE).
(07-12-2011) The authors submitting their manuscript to the track "Managing
Wicked Problems: The Role of Multi-Stakeholder Engagement, Resources and
Value Creation" will have the opportunity of having their paper
considered for publication in the International Food and Agribusiness
Management Review (IFAMR).
Deadline March 25th, 2012.
(First)
Welcome to the 10th Wageningen International Conference on Chain and Network
Management (WICaNeM 2012) website!
The 10th
Wageningen International Conference on Chain and Network Management (WICaNeM
2012) celebrates twenty years of conversations among scholars and
practitioners involved in the management of chains and networks. Through ten
bi-annual events, WICaNeM has been conveying debates on the results of chain
and network projects and new ideas for action, expanded theoretical thinking
and facilitated dialogues between CEO's from agribusiness and food
companies, researchers and consultants.
To
celebrate its 10th anniversary, WICaNeM 2012 aims to further broaden its
horizons in multiple directions. First, a number of managers from
agribusiness companies, NGOs, government agencies and international
organizations will arise and discuss the current problems in agri-food
chains and networks with scholars. Second, scholars from a range of new
disciplines will be engaged in WICaNeM for the first time, as they are also
facing the same problems and contributing to their solutions. Third,
scholars and practitioners from new organizations around the world will
attend WICaNeM as the current problems in agri-food chains and networks are
increasingly interconnected across the globe.
The theme
of the WICaNeM 2012 is
Multi-Stakeholder Dynamics in Chains and Networks.
This theme is instrumental to broaden the horizons of WICaNeM and of its
community. Today’s problems related to ethics in agri-food chains and
networks impose individuals and organizations to engage with multiple
stakeholders at the same time. By interacting simultaneously with multiple
stakeholders, individuals and organizations can harmonize their goals, norms
and perceptions, innovate and create value. WICaNeM 2012 itself aims to be a
learning platform to cultivate multi-stakeholder interactions that create
value to its participants.
Sincerely,
The
organizing committee,
Domenico
Dentoni, Stefano Pascucci and Onno Omta. |
